Ouch

Ouch. I cant in recent memory remember three games in a series being that lopsided. 9-0, 0- 10 and 5-11. We put Niese, Pelf and Yo on the hill and surprisingly Niese was the only won who held it down. Pelf and Yo got ROCKED.

Of course before the weekend started the whole Mets fan base and media was very high and hopeful on this team.... but after this series I am sure WFAN is singing a different tune today. The streak is over, we lost a series against a division rival and we got embarrassed on national television last night.















Before the game started and the lineup was posted it was clear that both Ike and Pagan were not playing. Does that make any sense? We are playing the Phillies who we NEED to beat, Yo is on the hill, its the rubber game of the series, ESPN Sunday night game with the a whole country of baseball fans watching... and Jerry pulls Pagan for Gary Matthews Jr who hasn't done jack shit for us and Ike who has been our spark plug for Fernando Tatis. I like Tatis but not in place of Ike. Matthews went 0-4 and is hitting .139! Smooth move Jerry!














Jerry also did a superb job leaving Yo out to dry during his 4th inning car crash. WALKED the pitcher (Moyer) with the bases loaded, who used his wheelchair to get to first base. Next batter "little league helmet" Victorino blasts a grand salami.... Next batter Polanco gets a hit, next batter Utley hits another bomb. All of this was with 2 outs. Not one visit to the mound. Yo's day was done and we were losing 5-11. The score remained that for the rest of the game and our series was done.

A sweep would have capped off the great run we were having but in reality maybe the Mets just aren't as good as we all had hoped. The boys need to turn the page, shake it off and get back on that horse because there's another series to start tonight in Cinncinasty. O.P. is on the hill and we all know how that goes. Which Ollie will show up tonight? The ace or the train wreck?
