After losing both Reyes and Murphy to injury on Sunday and Johan having problems with his healing arm, making a sign about the DL seemed fitting. It's become a trend for most of the Mets to be on the disabled list. Reyes, Wright, Santana, Davis, Murphy, Bay, Pagan, Young... the list goes on. The past three seasons have been plagued with injury and it's almost been accepted since it's so common.

Terry Collins was given the task of trying to make things work around here. With all the cards against him before game 1 of the season even approached, he's done what he can with this group of guys to be a .500 ball club. That's more than what everyone expected.

We all thought that there was a glimmer of hope if the Mets could have been in better shape before the Braves series. After losing 2 of 3 and dropping to 9 games out of the wild card the hopes for a playoff run are slim to none. It's possible but don't bet the bank on it.

Yesterday I posted a few status updates on Facebook and Tweets about the topic and our fans bounced ideas and thoughts back and forth about the injuries. I was originally thinking of a black cloud over the word FLUSHING. Anthony Campanella wrote about the MRIs and I thought that was hilarious. That was the start of the sign. Added 2009-2011 and some of the #'s of injured players underneath and I was off to the game.

The fans and employees at Citi were lovin' it as was the media. I think SNY has been avoiding me lately but YAHOO, CBS, ESPN, DAILY NEWS and NY TIMES all ran the photo along with a story about the teams injuries.

The stands are starting to become bare and it's only going to get worse once the summer comes to a close. This team has heart and it's great to see them fight their way back for W's. Last nights walk off for Duda was awesome and I am glad that I was there to see it. The Buffalo Soldiers are here to play and show what they got. Bay is starting to swing a hot bat again and I expect some interesting baseball for the next month and a half.

Well.. we all had such high hopes after that sweep in Cincy, BUT in typical Mets fashion they lost back to back series against the Nationals and Marlins.

We had all hoped that when the Braves came to town this weekend a legitimate shot at closing the Wild Card gap would be possible. The teams defense has been horrible and the offense that was scoring 8+ runs per game seems gone overnight. The last three losses have been heartbreaking. All lost from shit plays in the field late in the game.

Although the summer is half over and the Mets are now back to .500 they technically aren't mathematically out of this. They're still 8 games out but if you rewind to 2007 you know anything can happen.

I've been seeing an overwhelming amount of shirts from The 7 Line all around the stadium and I gotta tell you it's a great feeling. It's really cool meeting people that are into the brand. It's becoming a real community of fans and when you see someone else wearing a shirt you naturally have something in common. THANK YOU!

I'm not making it to any of these Braves games but fingers crossed on Monday morning we will have chopped 3 from the Braves... and Arizona and St. Louis both got swept. Hey, we can dream right?

Hojo at Strawberry's!

Howard Johnson, better known to us as Hojo was at Strawberry's last night doing a meet and greet with the fans. Strawberry's is always busy on a normal Friday so as you'd expect having a WS Champion in the house would draw even more of a crowd.

I showed up around 6pm and the place was already packed out. Standing room only with a line out the door. Luckily we chose a spot towards the end end of the bar, which happened to be where they started the line up to get your items signed.

I ransacked my parents attic earlier in the day looking through all my old baseball cards, calendars and other goods for something to get signed but I decided on this original 1986 NL Champs sweatshirt that belonged to my grandfather.

"Poppy" watched almost every game after the 1986 season in this sweatshirt. Middle of summer and 95 degrees out? The sweatshirt was on. When I was growing up my Grandparents lived on Kissena Blvd in Flushing and if there was a game on he was glued to it. Meister Brau beer in hand and Planters unsalted peanuts next to him. That tall glass jar with the yellow cap. I remember it vividly like it was yesterday.

My grandfathers are the reason I became a Met fan and I felt it was fitting to start getting players from that team to start signing it. Hojo was the first and was happy to throw his John Hancock on it.

Howard made sure to make time for every fan. Signed whatever you brought, took photos and was a pleasure to meet. The event was very organized and everyone involved did a great job giving the fans enough time to meet Howard and not feel rushed.

I gave him one of the Carter tshirts that I printed up with On The Black and he was really appreciative to have it. I explained that we sent over $2,600 so far to the Gary Carter Foundation and he said it was great that the fans are doing something to give back.

Living so close to Strawberry's gives me the opportunity to meet players that I looked up to as a youngster. I'll have this sweatshirt with me from now on when I hear that one of the superstars of the 80's will be in town.

Thanks for the fun night Strawberry's! If you guys haven't been there yet their next big event is on August 13th for Douglaston Community Day. Come on down! They expect thousands of people to show up for a huge block party. Batting cages, dunk tank, food, music, fun.... AND Darryl invited his friends to come down. Doc Gooden will be there along with a few more ex players. More details coming soon.

Since the Don't Trade Reyes idea turned into a coast to coast movement we decided to throw another rally at Citi Field!

On August 19th get your asses down to Citi Field! We will meet up at McFaddens around 6pm for some pregame brews. Once the game starts we will gather peacefully on the Shea Bridge and watch the game.

Last time we had close to 400 people out there going bonkers for Jose. He even stopped while playing SS and threw a wave our way.

Last night was the return of the "face of the franchise" for the Metropolitans. D.Wright looked really happy to be back with the big club. He participated in the "claw" with Reyes after his first inning RBI double and hit another double in the 8th to break a 5-5 tie.

Mets took the win after battling back and forth due to Big Pelf's usual sub par performance.

Unfortunately the Mets are stuck behind the red hot Braves and Phillies but it is what it is. I have a feeling the Mets are going to be a pest in the NL east down to the wire.

Beltrans days are numbered but getting David back in the lineup might just be the extra boost they need to stay consistent. I of course have faith. BELIEVE!

Reyes is the man! I can't disclose how I was able to get this photograph of Reyes and I signed but it made my day.

I headed out to yesterdays game earlier than any other game of my 30 year fan career. First pitch was scheduled for 12:10pm and I was out the door by 9. After a quick stop at Staples for a silver marker (which came in handy!) I did the daily pit stop at Dunkin for a medium iced coffee then it was off to the ballpark.

I found out that the majority of the players would have been to the stadium by 8:30ish so by the time I got there I missed both Reyes and Dickey. It was my goal to get the photograph signed by Reyes and to give Dickey one of our Even Lesbians Love Dickey shirts. I also brought an extra with me incase he would have been nice enough to sign it.

I yelled over to one of the clubhouse guys as they were packing up a uhaul truck with all the teams luggage for the roadtrip after the game. He looked at the shirt, laughed and said he would hand deliever it to Dickey himself. If you remember from our Facebook/Twitter posts Dickey signed a shirt for one of our fans while in Detroit and he said wanted one.

Fast forward to today... I got an email from one of the producers at Mets Weekly saying that REYES was wearing the Even Lesbians Love Dickey shirt in the Mets Clubhouse before the game! Either Dickey gave it to Jose or let him borrow it.... whatever the case may be it's freakin awesome. They are two of my favorite Mets and even though I didn't get to see it I am sure they were having a laugh over it.

Dickey, if you are reading this or if anyone knows how to get in contact with him tell him that I'd love to get one of those shirts signed to frame in my apartment.

Both of yesterdays goals were reached and although the Mets lost I had a great time sweating my ass off in Flushing. Also a special thanks goes out to Nick aka Jack Walsh for hooking me up with the photo. I owe ya one man!

Met up with my Mets ticket rep Chris Leuth last night while I was at Citi and he hooked me up with the promised over sized signed tickets for our party on the 24th of September.

Originally he had promised one but walked out with two. SCORE! Although some signatures are a bit dated they are still awesome. They are 14 x 4.5 in size (Sorry, the right side got cut off on my scanner)

1986 Reunion at Strawberry's!

The fine folks over at Strawberry's sent this over today and of course we are happy to post it. This Sunday between 4-6pm get down to Douglaston to meet Jesse Orosco and the man himself Darryl Strawberry.

The Mets/Phils showdown starts at 1pm so go early to watch the game on one of their 16 tv's or jump on the LIRR after baking in the sun at Citi Field for 9 innings.

Straws is only about a 10 minute train ride from Citi to the Douglaston stop on the Port Washington line.

Interview with Joe Petruccio

For those Met fans that live under a rock Joe Petruccio is responsible for quite a few things you might not know about. He runs a daily blog called My Mets Journal and we recently linked up for a tshirt collaboration. I sent him some questions about the project, his blog and his impressive artwork.

How long have you been a fan? Do you have a favorite player over the years? Watch any other sports?
I am a life long Mets fan and also an artist. For many years I have been chronicling Mets games with an illustration and a commentary to summarize the game. Each year I begin the journey but unfortunately I lose the inspiration to continue after the All Star break. Last year I decided to start a blog and post the journal pages daily. It began with just a few hits from other frustrated fans and today has grown to several thousand a day. Before I knew it the journal was for the first time completed. I have been a Mets fan my whole life and grew up idolizing Tom Seaver. For a teenager growing up in Brooklyn, NY., Tom Seaver was like a rock star for me. Over the years he remains an all time favorite of mine. I am also a Jets, Knicks and Rangers fan.

You are the man behind the old school Met uniforms and they happen to be my favorite of all the different versions. How did that come about?
I was working at an Ad agency at the time. We had the Mets account. I was working on it as an art director. Kind of like a young Don Draper from Mad Men. They asked me to take a shot at re-designing the uniform. I submitted a few sketches and they chose the "Racing Stripe Uniform". They started wearing it in '83 and were wearing it when they won the '86 Championship. I'm very proud of that.

Did you go to school for art or are you self taught?
I went to the School of Visual Arts and graduated in 1980. That's where I honed my skills but pretty much I have been drawing from the time I could hold a pencil. In elementary school I would draw cartoons for friends and by high school I was painting the backs of denim jackets with rock band album covers. My passion for drawing has been life long and branched out from there.

How do you stay motivated day after day to come up with new entries for your Mets sketchbook? Are you going to publish it this year?
My motivation for the journal comes from the game itself. Every game gives me a different perspective. For every win there is a hero or pivotal moment that has to be depicted in a cartoon and likewise for the losses. The wins leave me with a lighthearted, happy they are still in the running feeling and losses inspire a defeated and almost somber view. That's the angst of being a Mets fan. I am always hopeful that the journal will be published. I have had several conversations with publishers but I think that a championship season could be what gets the blog more attention.

How do Mets fans or ownership feel about your art? Like our tshirts they don't always show the players and ownership in a positive light. Have you ever had any backlash?
Generally, the Mets fan that logs on to the journal blog each day comes for a recap of the game by a fellow fan. I'm not a sports journalist that has to present an objective point of view and just delivers the stats plainly. I put a lot of heart in everything I paint. My emotions are raw after some games and I draw exactly how it is for me. More often than not, I am depicting the same defeated or victorious feelings that others are having. There have been a few times that I have been corrected or chastised by a fan but not by owners. My response to those fans is that the journal is my personal and honest point of view. Let's face it, at the end of the day, the players and ownership are human being with talents, quirks, injuries, and sometimes they slip up. They're making most of their decisions for the team from a business angle and I'm going to draw it as I see it. After many games I may not draw the popular angle, but it is my love of the sport that keeps me going.

Now on to our collaboration Tshirt. I am really excited that we finally worked on something together. For those new schoolers out there where did you get the idea?
With the success of the blog I've had a lot of requests for t-shirts. I decided to take one of my popular pages and try it on t-shirts. The 7 line t-shirts are hot and your company is run by Mets fans for Mets fans. I can't think of a better synergy of My Mets Journal and the 7 line producing great quality t-shirts as the canvas. The fact that you are right in the heart of Queens, hand crafting your line in the shadows of the ballbark is what makes this a great collaboration. The Crazy Freddy idea came from and old Store that use to run ads in this area called "Crazy Eddie" on the tv commercial was this guy who was crazy and insane. Considering the state of the Mets the day I drew it, I thought it was perfect. My friend Jon over at espn.com had the same idea so we collaborated a bit and it was posted on my blog as well as espn.com

Is this the first time your artwork has been printed on a tshirt?
Over the years I have had the privilege to work with the Elvis Presley estate as well as Mohammed Ali in producing some beautiful t-shirts and memorabilia. I've also worked with the founders of Omni-peace, which is an organization that is trying to break the cycle of poverty in Africa. I am the creator of the logo that omni-peace is using on t-shirts and other various items to raise funds for their humanitarian efforts.

I'd love to work on some other tshirts with you. Do you have anything else in the works?
As far as our collaboration, I think the possibilities are endless, because with each game comes a new victory, defeat, record breaking achievement, or disgrace. I'll be there to capture them with my watercolors.Who knows? we'll do something else I'm sure.

Lastly, what are your predictions for the rest of the season. So far the team is beating all expectations and are actually still in it with the All Star Break just about to end. Where do you see them at the end of September?
All I want for the rest of the season is to play exciting ball. I want to see the promise and hope fulfilled on the field. Who knows how far we'll go this year. Just let's hope it stays interesting, I always believe we can do something. If Ike,Wright and Santana come back for a good stretch...we could be a little dangerous.

Christian Lopez: What an IDIOT!

I've been letting this marinate in my brain for a couple days. What would I have done in this situation? If I was lucky enough to be in Christian's position would I have given the ball back for the astonishing price of $0? FUCK NO!

Now let me start off by saying that I do agree that it was a good deed and hopefully Jeter has something big planned for the kid but that is never a sure thing. A sure thing is that the ball he ended up with is worth big bucks and you can't just hand that over because it's "the right thing to do". In the end baseball is a business and when the fans are shelling out money hand over fist to buy tickets, pay for parking/food/beers/merchandise it would have been good to see a fan get something back for that. Jeter, Majestic, the Yankees, Modells, Steiner Sports... everyone made something off this 3,000th hit. Christian... not so much.

Who would have thought that the 3,000th hit from Mr. Ground Ball would leave that little league field in the BX. Lucky enough for Mr. Lopez it did and he even got to watch the rest of the game from Steinbrenner's box. YIPPIE!

Every day that Jeter suits up in pinstripes he is making more money than most do per year. I feel like Christian made a quick decision when the Yankees immediately whisked him away and asked "What do you want?" instead of really thinking about it. Baseball players are lucky enough that us fans line their pockets with money just to watch them play a game. They get paid millions of dollars from contracts and endorsements to be an athlete and when something as monumental as a 3,000th hit baseball lands in your lap you NEED to negotiate a fair price. I'd feel the same if I caught the ball and we were talking about the Mets. Nobody would have blamed the 23 year old cell phone salesman if he chose to make a little green off his lucky seat. A cool $500,000 wouldn't put a dent in Jeters bank account. For everyone else that is life changing.

Taking a photo with Jeter and getting to meet Reggie Jackson and Jay Z isn't worth ripping up the winning lottery ticket.

Hold up... the Yankees gave you some signed balls, jerseys and tickets to the rest of the 2011 season at "The" stadium? Wow, that is ALMOST equivalent. What a bonehead move. Can't take it back now kid... way to blow it.

Even though he is a Yankee fan I wish the kid gets more than his 15 minutes of fame. Maybe a commercial? Now it's time to "do the right thing" for Jeter. Step up and throw the kid a bone.

Where we at right now?

The All-Star break came really quick -- at least to me -- which is a little surprising because looking at how the Squad from Queens kicked off the season I bet most of us thought this season was going to be long and painful.

But awesomely enough the Mets have surprised us and have started a few runs, putting to the side the many injuries, the uncertainty of the José Reyes situation and the owners being broke and talking shit about our team.

What stood out more was the difference between these Mets and the clubs from the past three years.

Even after the most frustrating losses, this year’s team hasn’t looked over matched or without a chance during any game -- and more importantly they have shown a lot of heart. The best example was that game against the Pirates when they came back from being down 7-0 and came out with the win.

To me the last two series on the Left Coast best described this season and will hopefully also be a small sample of what they will do during the second half:

-- Against the Dodgers every single player chipped in and backed up some solid pitching. The guys that are supposed to carry the offense contributed (even Jason Bay, imagine that) and even though they couldn’t complete the sweep and got shut out the last game, they came out with three out of four in L.A.

-- Against the (former New York) Giants, pitching kept them close in the first game and the bench/role players came through at the end of the game to get the win. They lost that series but they didn’t look bad at all facing the top three pitchers from the World Champions.

The Mets have maintained a steady pace for the last month and it hasn’t shown in the standings only because the Phillies and Braves haven’t stopped winning either. But I think at the end, the fellas rockin’ Orange and Blue can catch up to them and take over if they keep looking like they have the past few weeks.

Hopefully this is the year that October baseball finally comes back to Queens.

Tough Break???

What's up everyone. I'm a new blogger here and go by the name of Johnson Thundercock, but you can just call me JT.

In the past few weeks we've seen quite a lot happen with our beloved Mets. The "Don't Trade Reyes" movement is in full force, part of the team has been sold and there is potential for Einhorn to take majority control of the team in 3 yrs, and with a makeshift team we have somehow managed to play close to .500 ball.

But, and there's always a but, there are still some glaring problems with this team. And the one I absolutely have to focus on is the Mets head trainer. Ray Ramirez and the medical staff somehow manage to remain employed by our team. Why? Well let's not forget the Wilpons are still in control of this team and if there is one thing they've proved, it's that they know how to make wrong decisions.

It's one debacle after another with squad. Reyes and Beltran immediately jump to mind. Wright was a fluke thing so I'll let that slide. But the most recent thing is Ike Davis. This guy was supposed to be back already. A medical staff is supposed to be able to diagnose issues and provide the appropriate treatment. Now I'm finding out there is a good chance that Ike is gone for the year. To be specific he is going to try baseball related activities in 3 weeks and then a decision will be made. But if microfracture surgery is required we won't be seeing him until next year.

Seriously, the time has come to start clean and bring in a new medical staff. Enough is enough. I can't stand seeing players that I enjoy watching play go to the DL for extended periods of time. It stunts the growth of the player and wears on the fanbase. The Mets can afford neither.

Mike Xydias sat through a couple rain delays to watch the Mets win yet another series against the Braves. Thanks for showing Reyes and The 7 Line some love.

I can't stress enough how important inner division games are. Sure, it's fun to beat up the Yankees but those games mean shit compared to playing anyone in the NL. A series win on the road is huge for a team that had all the cards against them before the season started. Still working out the details for our calendar but so far we have a couple entries for you. Once we get about 20 to choose from they will all be posted. The 12 highest amount of votes will make the calendar. Girl with the highest vote count gets to choose her month.

I've been getting a few out of town ladies sending me photos but you'll need to be available to come to NY towards the end of the summer in order to be here for the shoot. You can still submit your entry but be prepared to get your tush here for the cameras if you make the cut.

Attention girls: You DO NOT need to have professional photos or headshots. Andrea and Tehmeena have both done work in the industry so those are the photos they decided to use. Please don't just send a shot of your face. The calendar will show full body shots like these two except you'll be wearing our clothes.

The shoot will be classy and professionally done. Nothing will be shot in a way you wouldn't be proud to show your parents.

This guy. This friggin' guy! Even with his save record...Frankie Rodriguez makes me nervous every time he trots out to the mound and flails off of it. I'm amazed he didn't walk anyone tonight.

It's difficult for a fan to wait for the implosion game after game. Luckily, tonight was not one of those nights.

The Mets took a big series on the road against the Brewers - a team that thrives at home - thanks to some solid pitching.

I can't forget to mention that John Niese had a great outing tonight. He could find himself moved-up in the rotation sooner than later.

Even in the loss last night, Dale Thayer got a chance to pick up the struggling Mike Pelfrey.

Chris Capuano put in 6 solid innings on Tuesday night and survived the bullpen for a win. Pedro Beato has had his ups and downs but those things are going to happen...even though it's difficult to watch. It was clearly an experiment gone wrong for the moment.

The Mets are starting to come together. The offense is starting to generate runs thanks to Jose Reyes and crew. I can say that because the rest of the team is void of known talent. Yes, Beltran is hitting but the rest of the team is slowly making a name for itself.

Manager Terry Collins is proving himself to be a worthy skipper. He seems to be a great fit for this club and has kept the Mets fighting their way into the NL East race.

Media frenzy!

Who would have thought that a simple $40 investment for a foldable poster board, ruler, pencils, letter stencils and paint markers would turn into such a media frenzy? Not me.

Just 7 nights ago I worked on this big ass 4x3 foot sign for close to 4 hours. It sure as shit doesn't look like much but it took forever. I watched one hell of a basketball come from behind win by the Mavericks against the Heat as I patiently filled in each penciled out letter with blue and orange. When I finally finished up and headed to bed I never imagined that just 24 hours later the publicity shit would hit the fan.

Friday night rolled around and I headed to Citi with my sign tucked nicely under my arm. I got off the train and strolled to McFaddens for multiple cold Budweisers and headed in just in time for the first pitch. We chatted it up with our boy Kevin Burkhardt for a bit and he mentioned on Twitter that SNY would most likely show us on the tube. How could they not? Their were anywhere between 400-800 Reyes supporters hanging on the Shea Bridge cheering on #7 and chanting for him even while he was in the field. It was a great feeling knowing that I was somewhat behind this Don't Trade Reyes movement. When I put up the tshirt graphic on Facebook to get fan reactions I never thought it would turn into this. Again a huge thank you to Donna Bauer, Maria Corvino Valentino and Mary Shannon for posting the event on Facebook, making the fliers and organizing the night. Not taking complete credit for the trade hype but having hundreds of people in your tshirts helps push the topic along rather quickly. Everyone noticed us, it was the talk of the stadium and SNY.

Saturday rolled around and we got some mentions around the internet and on CBS radio 880. Reyes himself was interviewed by ESPN and he said he could hear us loud and clear.

On Sunday the sign hit the New York Post and I headed back to Citi for the final game against the Braves. Of course brought the sign with me for some hopeful round 2 exposure. I actually forgot it and had to back track to my apartment to pick it up on the way to Citi. Good thing I did... you know the rest... if you don't READ THIS.

That night ended with my removal/ejection/tossing from the stadium and resulted in an insane amount of coverage bringing even more attention to the fans perspective of the Don't Trade Reyes movement and The 7 Line.

Monday morning was ridiculous. I was woken up at around 6:45am by 1010 Wins radio calling for a few quotes, heard about the two page spread photo in the Daily News and followed that with Boomer & Carton talking about the incident for close to 10 minutes.

Those are a few of the ones that I remember. The story has been EVERYWHERE. It was never my intention to get kicked out of the stadium. Anyone who knows me can attest to my laid back attitude and easy going personality. Either way it happened and the Mets ended up giving me "more mileage" as Carton put it, by kicking me out. So I guess I have to say thank you to them for that.

I wrapped up today with a visit from SNY and Mets Weekly (who haven't Tweeted since SEPTEMBER?). The segment should air in about a week and I will of course keep you posted on that. Thanks for coming by guys, it was fun!

Busy Busy!

What a crazy month this has been!

If you are a new fan of ours you may not know about all the press this brand was getting before the whole "kicked from the stadium" ridiculousness.

This past Sunday night and me getting ejected from Citi Field added to that media blitz ten fold.

Since the start I have been doing 99.9% of the daily tasks for this brand. Internet hype, Facebook/Twitter, print every shirt by hand, packaging every order, designing the artwork, promoting at the games..... it all adds up and I wish the day had 30 hours in it.

I had help with a few designs (Kings of Queens/Hernandez Mustache Rides, among others) from a friend of mine (Brian at EXC) and my friend Zee did some video stuff with me last season. A HUGE thank you to Diane for setting up my Facebook fan page and Twitter accounts too last April. Obviously that is a major part of any business these days! "JameRock" is on as the occasional blogger and "Roach" should be chiming in too from time to time. I also just set up another friend who should be putting his two cents in shortly. He is very outspoken so that should be a fun read.

The Daily News article came out May 12th and things haven't slowed down since. Every time I feel like I caught up something new pops up and I get jammed up with more and more work. I AM NOT COMPLAINING but things are now becoming way too much work for just one person. Starting tomorrow I will have one employee. She will mainly be packing orders all day while I print the shirts. I will prob send her on coffee runs too to the local bodega...

Not about to rattle off exact numbers but since Friday night hundreds of orders have came in and I know lots of you are eagerly waiting on your tshirts. I appreciate your business and it's an awesome feeling to know that so many of you are into what I am doing. This has and always will be a brand based around the true die hard fans. I am just doing my part to give the fans a voice through my tshirts and luckily you guys are behind me and that message.

Once we can get caught up on all these orders things should be running like a fine oiled machine. I think the addition of even one employee will help out tremendously. I will post an introduction about her tomorrow and of course she IS A MET fan. It will always be that way for The 7 Line.

So, I appreciate your support and patience. Your orders will be sent out asap. Catching up should only take a few more days.

My side of the story minus the ending. I was kinda rambling on, but it was early and I was hungover from watching the end of the game at McFaddens instead of inside the stadium.

After talking with some security and supervisors they confiscated my ticket and said I would be arrested for trespassing if I didn't walk out on my own. Pretty ridiculous but someone from above made the final decision.

Glad Carton was on my side but I completely understand Boomer too. I never thought it would be this big of a news story and that was never my intention. It worked out for me though since the Mets felt I needed to be removed for the stadium. The power of social networking got my story out to everyone by the next morning. On Friday I was all over SNY, everyone loved it and I had no problems. That is why I brought the sign back thinking I would get the same welcomed treatment.

I agreed to take the sign down and promised to not show it anymore. What got me ejected was the business cards which fans asked for. I wasn't handing them out to random people on my way out or bothering people on the almost non existent concession or bathroom lines. Every one of them reached out and said "can I have one".

Either way as Carton said... I got extra mileage since I was in fact kicked out so I guess I can thank the Mets for that.

We reached out to the Gary Carter Foundation about a week ago but I am sure they are extremelly busy right now. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Gary Carter and his family during this tough time. If they don't reply we are going to make the donation to the American Cancer Society. Either way money will be sent somewhere for a good cause in the name of a Met player we all loved seeing in the Orange and Blue.

Don't Trade Reyes!

The Don't Trade Reyes movement went national last night!

Here's the story:
I made the sign for the official "Don't Trade Reyes" event that was posted on Facebook by a few of the fans. That was on Friday night and I brought the EXACT same sign. On Friday it wasn't a problem and they even talked about it and showed it multiple times on SNY.

I decided since I was going to the game last night I may as well bring the sign with me again. I stood outside before the game with the sign opened at my legs. Out of the thousand or so people who walked by me 99% of them had a positive reaction. "I agree" was the most common response.

I started the game off on the "Shea Bridge" and decided to go down to my seat in the 4th inning for Jose's at bat. The fans around me saw the sign and were pumped up on the message. We all want Reyes on this team. When he walked to the plate I told the fans around me that we would be chanting Don't Trade Reyes clap clap clap clap clap.... They were into it and it spread to the other side of the stadium in seconds.

Now I completely understand that its obnoxious to sit behind someone holding a gigantic sign but it was up for about 20 seconds TOPS. It just ended up being at the right place at the right time and it luckily caught the attention of the ESPN cameras.

I was told by a security guard that I can't hold up the sign when the game is in play. I agreed. That makes complete sense. After he got a hit I put up the sign again and a supervisor then came down to tell me that I can't have the sign up because it has a website address on it. Ok... again, makes complete sense. I am getting free advertisement LIVE on national television. Makes sense.

I decided to leave the section on my own and walk back to my original spot. I agreed that I wouldn't show the sign anymore. They didn't kick me out right off the bat. I folded up my sign and while walking out (while fans booed of course.. they wanted me there) and people around asked how to contact me. I gave out about 10 business cards and that is what set off security even more. That is now soliciting I guess.

The guard asked to see my ticket. I did in fact have one for that section. He then confiscated the ticket and asked me to leave on my own or leave in cuffs. I asked on what charge and he said "now you are trespassing, you don't have a ticket". Real classy.

I've never been kicked out of any stadium before. At first I was pissed but in the end... it was worth it. Thanks guys! Media frenzy!

Well... that was fun!

Last night was what I would consider a huge success. We caught the attention of the whole stadium, SNY gave a shout out on the air and Howie Rose was on WFAN describing the scene. I hear there's something in Newsday but I didn't get a chance to see that yet. There's no way in hell that ownership and front office didn't catch wind of us.

"That makes the Don't Trade Reyes crowd very happy"- Gary Cohen after Jose punched a single in the 5th inning.

Jose heard us loudly cheering for him and seemed pretty confused until he came close enough to read the signs. Pagan went towards the infield to let him know what was goin down on the Shea Bridge. Jose smiled and laughed and gave us multiple glove waves... that was good enough for us. He knows he is wanted here.

It's a money thing and I respect the man getting what he deserves. He had another multi hit game last night and leads MLB in triples. Anyone saying that he is "overrated" needs to wear a helmet and ride the short bus. We simply can't dump one of our best players right now. The Mets need fans in the stadium and the few that do show up now won't be around if they shell out all our "superstars". I just really hope they can scrounge up enough loot to throw his way and make an offer.

In the end the Mets blew another one late in the game and isn't it ironic that the Reyes error added to the come from behind win for the Braves... win some ya lose some.

Thanks to everyone who showed support and came out to the stadium with us. My phone was blowing up so I knew we had made it on camera. Thank you Kevin Burkhardt and SNY for being true to the fans and showing us on TV. They could have chose to ignore seeing us but they did the right thing.

Tonight at Citi Field!

I've been selling the Don't Trade Reyes shirts for a few weeks now and have been trying my best to get the rest of the fan base on board. The fans have spoken... we want Jose to retire in Orange and Blue.

After all the press the brand received I mailed out hundreds of Don't Trade Reyes shirts. Hopefully a good majority of those people will be meeting up tonight to show Jose, the fans, viewers at home and most importantly the ownership how we feel.

Big shout out to Donna Bauer, Maria Corvino Valentino and Mary Shannon for creating the Facebook event. A ton of people RSVP'ed so this night has the potential to be HUGE.

The team is freakin' broke... we all know this. They simply CAN NOT get rid of the best SS in baseball. Find any way to keep him here. Dump some other players, sell more bricks in the fan walk, rent out Citi for more events, have the annual carnival like the old days in the parking lot, sell Jeff Wilpons organs on the black market...

Do anything you can to offer him a contract and keep him in NY!

I spent way to many hours on this sign for it to look this average. I had the idea of using paint markers/ stencils for the letters and it took hours to fill in. Either way it gets the message across and measuring in at 4x3 feet it should be clearly seen in the stadium. I tweeted Kevin Burkhardt last night about our group outing/sign last night and he replied today saying that SNY will more than likely show it on the air. If you can't be with us tonight be sure to tune in and watch.

If you didn't get a shirt in time The Bullpen Shop across from the bullpen gate to Citi / McFaddens carries them. They mostly stock L-2XL but they might have some extras. Stop over there before you head into the stadium.

Not so Hot Sauce

I thought all the nonsense that DICK Wilpon said last week was swept under the rug when the new investor came in and gave us a little bit of hope that down the road he might completely take over the team.

But I completely forgot that all of the Mets problems also affect all the teams they’re linked to specially the Buffalo Bisons, who have struggled competing in Triple-A but only because their top players have been called up to weather the storm of injuries that are almost now a tradition from the Squad in Queens.

My trip to Buffalo last weekend confirmed that bad news does really travel fast. It was a crazy coincidence that this editorial above came out while I was there, but what really called my attention was the view of the Mets from the Buffalo locals.

Every time the baseball subject came up and I mentioned my allegiance to the Orange & Blue, I got almost the same reaction and the same commentaries. They mentioned how much they sucked, how they got ripped off by Madoff and how even the very owner thinks they’re shitty.

It’s been almost five years since I’ve started hearing that everywhere, so I know how to shrug that off. But this time I kind of bugged out because these comments were from people that live 24-7-365 hockey, their second sport is football and all of their major sports teams have gone through major disappointments in decisive championship moments.

The sports fans in Buffalo are extremely loyal and they have stuck with their teams through those many heartbreaks, so when many people there are hoping that the Bisons cut ties with anything that has to do with the Mets, that’s how I know the Squad from Queens are pretty close to hitting rock bottom.

My initial thought when the new investor came in was that this is the first step to push the Wilpons out of the picture little by little and help turn around the team not to make it a winning team, but a CHAMPION -- many times over. Now I also would like things to get better so the Bisons also get better.

To me it would be awesome if there’s a successful Orange & Blue team in Buffalo, that would create many many AMAZIN’ Mets fans, who would be incredibly loyal just like all of us right now.

On The Farm

As our beloved Mets struggle to play .500 ball and the starting lineup becomes more and more unfamiliar, I thought I would share some uplifting news from the farm.

The Buffalo Bisons swept a doubleheader from the Gwinnett Braves (Atlanta AAA affiliate) on Sunday. The two'fer was the second in as many days due to some recent uncooperative weather. The Bisons took 3 of 4 for the weekend and continue to show positive signs.

Two names that may be familiar with Mets fans, Lucas Duda (OF) and Mike Nickeas (C) had pedestrian games. Duda homered in game 2, giving the Bisons the go-ahead in a 2-1 win. While Nickeas knocked and double in game 1, going 1-2 with a walk. Something worth noting was Nickeas picked off a runner on 3rd base...not something you see every day. It's good to know that there is some talent behind the plate in the Mets system while the the position of catcher is not necessarily secure in Queens.

Other good news is that Bobby Parnell appears to be working hard on the farm. Parnell closed out the first game with a 6-out save, including 3 K's.

The 5-3 win was provided courtesy of a 5th inning grand-slam by Valentino Pascucci (1B), a minor-league lifer drafted by the Montreal Expos back in 1999. He has made no major-league appearances, but reminded me of Carlos Delgado-big guy with a smooth swing.

Game 2 was much less exciting on the offensive side, but frequent flyers Ryota Igarashi and Manny Acosta put together 2.1 scoreless innings in relief to secure the win. Mike Fisher (3B) also homered, making his contribution to the win.

Fernando (F-Mart) Martinez, the valued prospect, went 1-3 between the two games including a RBI in game 1.

All in all, the Bisons (23-28) don't look much different from their major-league counterparts-making basic errors in the field and battling mediocrity. But, they do have some players that can hit the longball and they continue to further develop some familiar talent in the bullpen.

I think they whipped up 4 different spots. This one (thanks to my friend Liz for filming her television) is my favorite.

I don't completely disagree with all the crap that spewed from Mr. Fred Wilpons mouth in the New Yorker story but when you are the centerpiece of an organization you can't publicly talk shit on your product.

His product, the Mets, are the team he put on the field for us the fans. For the past however many years we are promised "the team, the time".. you know the stupid tag lines each year. His job is to try and convince us in believing in the team. That's what gets us in the seats and that's what puts money in his pockets. We don't need a tag line, just win.

We as fans talk crap on all our players. That's what fans of all sports do to cope with losing.

WE get the free pass. WE are the fans. WE put up with this shit every year. WE consider ourselves the 10th man on the field. Fred freakin' Wilpon although "talking like a fan" can not publicly go on the record and trash his/our team. That's suicide.

He is in the business of baseball. If you owned a restaurant would you say "It's overpriced. Alright food but I wouldn't eat there". No, you'd be a dumbass. As is Fred.

Bottom line you can't take it back now. Like I said earlier... I don't disagree with everything he said but there is a time and place for everything. When you are in his position there is a time to zip your lip and roll with the punches. The last thing he needs on his plate is another negative story. Thanks for keeping the Mets up on the shit list with all of baseball. Idiot.

Tell us how you really feel Dick -- I mean Fred!

So by now every single Mets fan has heard of or read the New Yorker article about Mets owner Fred Wilpon talking shit about his own team -- our team. Another shitty decision to pile up to the ones that actually affect the team on the field.

I’m glad that asshole came out and said what was on his mind without sugar-coating anything because now we all know that a few of us supporting the Squad from Queens are way more loyal and more supportive than the actual owner of the club.

Also it’s a good thing that he addressed some players by name and how they’ve been playing lately, especially DWright, who the past couple of seasons had the chance to reach superstar status and has fallen way short of that. Maybe now that Wilpon called him out he can play with some anger and step it up a little bit, I’m sure no one would be upset if we saw him put the team on his shoulders.

That’s how far I’ll go with agreeing with Wilpon. I think José Reyes deserves everything he’ll ask for, it’s totally worth investing on a player that is the face of the team and brings a little personality to what has become more and more a league full of robots “playing one game at a time, playing hard, doing my best” and all the clichés that they always say.

Ike is a great player, not on a shitty team, but on a team with potential. Given the terrible start and the ups and downs, the Mets have exceeded my expectations and are close to creeping up on everyone. Like I said a few days ago, I can’t wait for Ike to come back from the DL so he can finally take over DWright spot as the team’s "superstar".

If there were still people out there that didn’t hate Fred Wilpon, I think now every single Met fan will after all the shit he said about the team. Hopefully this is the extra push he needs to step away from the team and sell it to a TRUE METS FAN.

As most loyal fans from the Squad from Queens I very much so despise that team from the Dirty Bronx. But it’s always an exciting time of the year when Interleague play comes along and the two teams from the Big Apple face each other dividing the city for three days.

We all remember how awesome it was when they faced eachother in the World Series, even though it wasn’t the outcome we all wanted, to me it was one of my greatest memories as a baseball fan.

I’m sure everyone also remembers that rain delay in Yankee Stadium when Robin Ventura painted on a mustache, put on Mike Piazza’s jersey and started running and sliding all over the wet tarp over the field. Also as a result of that rain out they had to play a day night double header -- AT YANKEE STADIUM AND AT SHEA STADIUM! How awesome was it to see that police escort leading the buses from each team all the way to Shea.

For the past few of years it’s become almost a tradition that one of the teams comes to the first set with a long losing streak or slumping big time. Unfortunately, everyone knows that for at least the past three years that team has been the Mets.

But things are looking a little bit different this year. The Squad from Queens has been looking good the past couple of days, winning two series on the road last week and even though they have been hit with a couple of injuries, the players still in the lineup and the ones brought up have stepped it up big time.

On the other side, before the smackdown they put on Baltimore on Thursday, the Skanks have had a really bad run with their bats and still can’t seem to shake off the Jorge Posada cry-baby controversy, even turning “the captain” against the people in charge.

So now that the Mets’ pitching and offense are in good rhythm -- can’t remember the last time that has happened with consistency -- it’s once again a very exciting time with the first three games of the Subway Series this season.

Hopefully they can keep that momentum going, not only to see them put a hurting to the team we all hate, but maybe the Mets can make it even sweeter and be the ones that start the downfall of the Skanks. Not only for this season, but return them to their misery of the 80’s so the Orange & Blue can once again be the toast the city.

It's pretty cool that I got the chance to reach so many people and speak my mind like a Die Hard Mets fan as a guest blogger in The7Line, since my day job as a reporter requires me to be objective and keep my composure no matter what happens on the field.

I’ve been fortunate enough to cover the team that I love and attend a few events at Citi Field. There’s been opportunities to interview players and see how they interact when they’re just chilling in the clubhouse when the tape recorders and cameras are off.

But after talking to the star shortstop José Reyes I come out of that stadium a much bigger Mets fan than ever.

Like most of you know, I’ve only followed the Squad from Queens for only 16 years so my favorite players are relatively recent ones in comparison to the great history of players that have played in Flushing. So my early memories are cheering for guys like Lance Johnson (my first autograph), Bernard Gilkey, Rey Ordóñez and so on. I never had an overall favorite until Mike Piazza came along and since then until my last game at Shea I rocked my 31 jersey to every game I went.

In the past couple of years I’ve followed all the stars that came to the team, but at the end the energy that he brought to every single play in every single game made José Reyes top the list of my favorite Mets player.

What made Reyes standout from all of them wasn’t him legging out one of those awesome triples, a huge bomb or a great play with the glove. It was after seeing how much of a professional he is.

During all of my assignments Reyes was joking around, talking slang and moving around with what ever kind of music was blasting in the clubhouse, but once I turned on my recorder he turned on the switch and answered all my questions in a really well spoken manner, without a single cliché.

I know some of the legends from 86 were assholes and went crazy everywhere they went, and honestly I think the Mets need a few guys like that so they can take over the league again. But Reyes is one of those good guys that we also need so we can hit up the stadium and cheer for every single day.

Aside from the frustrations of every Mets loss, what drives me even crazier are all the trade talks surrounding José Reyes. Everytime he’s linked to a team I get a little heartbroken just thinking of our star shorstop rocking anything other than orange and blue.

Since the beginning of the season he’s said that he wants to finish his career with the Mets. I hope they make his wish come true so we can see him lift that World Series trophy as a member of the Amazins.

The Jorge Posada story is a couple days old now but it's still a humorous topic.

Nobody likes to be told they are getting old and some can handle it better than others. Posada would be in the later of the two.

When finding out he would be batting in the 9 hole this past weekend he TOOK HIMSELF OUT OF THE GAME. Talk about not being a team player. The Yankees threw him a bone this season offering to pay and keep him around even though his time has come to hang up the cleats.

Instead of just doing what he can to help on the field, in the clubhouse or on the bench he bitched and made a huge scene instead of standing up like a man and accepting it.

He has been around forever and has been a part of many winning teams with the Yanks. What a terrible display of emotions towards the end of your successful career. What a brat.

Everyone on my personal Facebook page thought it was funny to tag me in this ad from Manhattan Mini Storage. I've also received multiple texts from people riding the train or walking past billboards in NYC. I'm sure some of you have too.

Sure, I would of course do the same thing if the ad's hate was targeted at the Yankees or a Met rival because that's just the funny thing to do.

The most important part of any advertisement or commercial is to get people talking. And clearly they did a good job. Whoever whipped it up for them deserves a raise. Bravo for that.

With that being said. Who are they to shit on a team in their own city? Who owns this company that thinks it's a good idea to piss off that many potential customers? Running the ad ON THE 7 TRAIN? That's a direct slap in the face and I am shocked nobody said anything about it yet. If you are a true Blue and Orange Met fan NEVER USE MANHATTAN MINI STORAGE!

What are the 6 teams anyway? Don't tell me they gave the freakin LIBERTY more credit than the METS!

What a past few days! Thursday the Daily News story broke, yesterday was 1010 Wins spot that aired every 30 or so minutes with John Montone and CBSNewYork.com ran it on their page as well for those who missed the radio broadcasts.

This is all so awesome and I am blessed to have had so many loyal supporters in the first year of business. You guys are the ones that got The 7 Line on the media radar and I can't thank you enough.

What a morning! Todays issue of the Daily News ran a story about the brand which can also be read ONLINE.

If you can get your hands on a copy it ran on page 40. Not sure if the Manhattan version ran it but its for sure in Queens, Brooklyn and Long Island. Huge thanks to Mark Morales for taking the time to meet up with me at the shop and write the story. BEERS ON ME!

John Montone of CBS radio 1010WINS caught wind of the story and was already on his way to my apartment by 7am this morning. We chatted it up for a while and that will air tomorrow morning from 5-10am every 40 mins or so. Thanks John! Pleasure meeting you!

These were emailed to us for our Mets/Yanks tickets contest but were removed by Facebook since some people felt it was too hot for their eyes. Last night they went up and by this morning someone had complained and they were taken down. Back in the day I used to love when the Mets went on West Coast road trips. I got to see how many Mets fans there were on the other side of the country and hear the LET’S GO METS chants in those stadiums.

But during the past few years to me it has been one of the worst times of the season. Not only do we have to wait for the entire day to go by, but after the game and seeing the ridiculous ways the Mets find to lose, you have go to sleep super pissed off.

I could easily turn off the TV during the 5^th inning and catch the highlights the following morning, but my loyalty (what most out there would call insanity) makes me want to keep watching thinking they will FINALLY get that base hit with men on second and third with two outs.

But no, that hasn’t happened this season either, for some reason I thought that was going to change. Instead they’re beaten by a ridiculous homerun that only can be hit against the Mets.

The Squad from Queens still has WAYS to go to be once again a contender, but now I think it’s time to concentrate on getting to .500. If the Pirates and Royals can do it, I’m sure the Mets can get up there too.

Hopefully they can get hot once again so they can start climbing out of the division basement.

I'll look past the fact that this concert is at Yankee Stadium. Just a hunch but I have a feeling they won't be getting the same crowd as their Jay Z gig last year...

The last time I saw Metallica LIVE was at Woodstock in 1998 when the whole place rioted and my last Slayer show was around 2002 in Austin, TX. Kerry King came into the bar I was chilling at afterwards for some Budweisers and I scored a guitar pick from some girl who was doing naughty things with a guitar tech... good times for sure.

Seeing both those bands with Anthrax and Megadeth (who I am not that crazy about) is a night not to be missed for any old school metal fan.

Group trip to Citi!

Some of you saw this photo I posted (on Facebook) during the last home stand from the Modells Clubhouse and asked about sitting there.

I just locked it down for Saturday September 24th against the Phillies!

The ticket price will include a free open bar (Beer, wine, soda or hard liquor) and food (burgers, dogs, chicken fingers, salads) for roughly $100. You most likely spend about that anyway buying full price tickets, drinking in McFaddens and eating in the stadium during a normal day.

That price will include your tip for the servers/bartenders and an exclusive tshirt printed up just for those attending.

The area holds up to 90 people and before I even post this I have a good number reserved.

NOW... I understand the team is sub .500 right now and we can never mind read what will happen between now and September but this game might be crucial for the Mets getting into the playoffs OR it could be us celebrating another shitty season together while getting boozed up.

Make Sure You Buckle Up!

Everyone knew that this season was going to be full of ups and downs.

And we got our first taste last week as the Mets caught fire and got us all hyped by winning six in a row showing a huge turn around from the terrible start of the season. The were showing some good pitching, solid defense and what’s even more surprising FINALLY hitting with men on base -- something they weren’t doing at all through the beat downs they got the first few weeks of the season.

And even though they couldn’t get the streak going to seven after losing the last game in D.C., we were riding high before the big series against the Phillies, who weren’t doing so well and have been hit left and right with injuries.

But almost immediately the Squad from Queens brought us back down getting killed in the first game and not getting anything done against a rookie pitcher. And even though our boy Jon Niese and the offense hung in there all the way until the late innings, things didn’t change against Roy Halladay.

For the closing series they finally showed they can win a close game, especially against the other ace Cliff Lee. It took 14 innings but they did it, adding another Mets win to a historic day for New York City and the US of A.

Now they come back home to face the World Champions (former New York) Giants and will be facing The Freak in the second game. Let’s see how they fare against another really good team and hopefully they can take a series that could definitely help them gain some confidence and pick up steam so they can finally start climbing in the standings and get past the Nationals out of last place -- can you believe that???.

Stay on the roller coaster because regardless it’ll be an awesome ride.

I know all of you have heard DWright sound a little bit corny while saying this at the end of those safety anouncements on the DiamondVision screen before every home game.

But after hitting up Citi Field for the first time this year for the win against the Astros and the first win against the D-backs, I’m starting to believe that more and more. For both nights the stadium was so live and from the roar after each big play, you’d think they were facing one of their rivals on a “must-win” game.

It was really awesome to be a part of this, especially after the terrible games they’ve had and noticing the frustrations on the facebooksphere that most of the fans have shown, basically throwing in the towel before the first month even ends. I admit I was just as frustrated, but never to the point of thinking the season was over even before the summer started.

That’s one of the cool things about baseball, that after a terrible game there’s the chance the very next day to go to the stadium and be there for something AMAZIN’. And from the atmosphere for my first two games this season, people came through with that great passion for the Mets and expecting them to win.

I’m really glad to see that there are still a huge amounts of fans that, just like me, are sticking with the Mets through the rough patches and also the awesome wins -- no matter how often they might come. For the few of you that have given up, now is your chance to get that loyalty back on point and show up at the stadium, watch on TV or listen to the game with a LET’S GO METS! attitude and kill that “how will they lose this one” point of view that unfortunately has spread around most of us rocking the orange and blue.

For sure there will be games where we’ll be shaking our heads and asking ourselves how the hell are we gonna keep our sanity being loyal to this team. But never forget that it could be the very next day that Squad from Queens will reward us with something special.

I knew it would be a struggle but I never thought it would be this bad. After the first 17 games our team is just 5-12 and are the WORST team in the majors.

They've only had shittier starts twice in their 49 year history and that was in 1962 (their inaugural season) and 1964.

What is the answer? Jason Bay? One player doesn't make a team but his offense would help if he swings the bat like he did yesterday in Port St. Lucie. He went 4-4 with two homers.

It makes me sick but I will continue to support the team. I might just need to enter a 12 step program by May. Seats are empty in every level and it's only going to get worse. I've been to all but 2 games at home and it's great to see fans still cheering for the team but that won't last long.

Nobody is clicking. The all stars aren't producing and the pitching sucks.

What happened to Dickey? And lets not even get started on Pelf.

When I looked at the team before the season started, there were plenty of reasons to think that the Mets could surprise a lot of people.

But during this first couple weeks it’s evident that the squad from Queens has shown that they can’t even hang against the Nationals. I hate pointing out the negatives like all those other shitty blogs about the Mets, but it’s simply the truth.

During these past two series the bullpen gave everyone flashbacks of 2008 and left me wondering if we could bring back Heilman, since his shitty performances only came during September.

Another thing that has this team going nowhere is their lack of hitting with two outs and with men on base. It seems like every effin’ team in the league can get that clutch hit, except the Mets. Sure, they have put together awesome rallies during some games, even avoiding a beatdown in Philly, but they haven’t completed that phat comeback that can give them the game and maybe get them on a roll for the next few games.

It’s evident that the team has loosened up, seems to be having fun and is showing some unity, but I think they have to start taking all these losses personally. Start hating the other team, no matter who it is.

The squad from Queens definitely doesn’t look like a club with a $200 million plus payroll. After watching this team for the past week now I know how Pirates, Royals and Orioles fans have been feeling during all these decades.

I hope the Mets can turn it around and don’t turn into the floor mat of the National League.

It's been a rough first 11 games of the season for this team we love.

I have to admit I too got caught up thinking that this season would be different after taking 2 of 3 in Florida and winning the first game of the series against Phila in convincing fashion. After that win they've done dick besides the Saturday night win against the Nats.

On paper the position players look like they can be competitive with any team in the majors. The pitching.. not so much. We are crossing our fingers with an old knuckle baller, an ex all star who we hope still has something left in the tank (and now had his start pushed back to Sunday), Pelf who can't seem to get his shit figured out and the rest of the bunch who are so/so. Niese had that one hit complete game shut out last year that you can't forget. They are just way too hot and cold. CONSISTENCY IS NEEDED ASAP!

Reyes is off to a hot start which is awesome but will also lead to him being trade bait if things keep up the way they've been going. Murphy has been playing consistently at 2B and I like how he's been swinging. Thole can't throw out ANYONE and I think the opposition got to 11 stolen bases last night on the season with NO put outs. Willie Harris needs to play like he isn't on our team and that might wake him up in the outfield. He lost balls in the lights or fog two nights in a row. Beltran won't play consistently in the field but at least we have his bat on the bench if needed. BAY? He's coming back, he isn't coming back... at this point it will be May. Santana? HURRY! D. Wright has been striking out at usual but I feel like he will have a monster year.

We are Met fans and this is the hell we choose to put ourselves through. Some of you boycott going to Citi Field because "I won't put my hard earned dollars until they sell or start winning"... to each his/her own but I for one feel like I HAVE to be there. The players, Terry and Sandy have to play the cards they are dealt and this is our team love it or hate it. Don't give me the "tickets are too expensive" run around either. You can get in the gate for $10. That's cheaper than the movies or two trips to White Castle for some belly bombs. I personally never buy tickets unless it's opening day or against the Yanks and if you are a fan on Facebook or Twitter you can see where I eventually end up. Show up early and hang out in McFaddens and odds are other fans will be there with extras for free. If not stroll around outside and I promise you'll get in cheap. Once you are in, make friends with the STAFF! They hate the Wilpons too, believe me.

Listen, it's a long season and as a sport fan you never know what can happen. Baseball is streaky and our time will turn eventually. Hopefully today for the double dip!

Don't forget! Game one starts at 12:10 this afternoon. And of course "Even Lesbians Love Dickey"

Well the Mets lost but as usual we had a fun day at the ballpark. McFaddens was SLAMMED so we didn't end up getting to meet up with some people as planned but since game 1 came and went it should be less crowded now that all the one game a year fans got their fix. I know that was a run on sentence but it made sense to me.

Andrew from Mr Moody Met was on hand with awesome one of a kind buttons like the one seen in this photo. We got some stuff in the works with him for tshirts... just need to steer clear of MLB trademark laws before we go to print. Damn the man. Andrew hooked me up with two and of course one of them got stolen right off my girls bag within 10 minutes. Thanks for the hook up though. Check out his tumblr to check out his work. Shit is SICK!

We also hit up The Apples tailgate party for a quick couple beers and it was nice to finally meet some people who I had only previously typed to. Randy from The Apple came to our party at Straws so we of course had to show some love back and say what's up. While walking to the location (from his map) I was thinking the tailgate may have been a joke... since his website is in fact "Mets News that is 0% Accurate, 100% Funny". Kerel from On The Black was chillin' as well and we have some things in the works for a video blog. Stay tuned about that. Check out both their websites.

Lastly, if anyone knows a L M Feuerman send me an email. He stole my $40 off the bar in the Champions Club. Asshole. Swiped the $40 and tried to play it off as his own then used a credit card to pay for his round. I saw the receipt dick.

We broke the one year mark!

The 7 line is celebrating our one year birthday today! We printed up a batch of the "I Survived" shirts for the last game of 2009 but didn't officially start things up until the first game at Citi last year.

It's been a fun first year and I've have had a great time printing these shirts for you loyal die hard fans of the Mets. Although the team and MLB night not be the fondest of us we are still kickin' and will continue to do so for a long time coming. If you've noticed we steer clear of using the word METS or any other logos on our products.... this has just forced us to be more creative in how we connect with the fans, and apparently you guys are liking it.

As day breaks here in NY we are opening the record books with a clean page. Our NY Metropolitans have all the cards against them and that just might be the motivation they need to get back on track. A new skipper, new GM, a roster of all stars and some young blood. THEY CAN WIN! LGM! Opening Day 2011! Have faith!

Have you looked at our roster? If everyone clicks we have a strong shot to shock the baseball world of haters. Now is the time for the players to step up and just play ball. The media can and will talk crap on the teams financial situation but in the end if the players penciled in the roster play the way they know how we will be in great shape.

Of course everyone has high hopes on Opening Day, just ask Cubs fans, but this is a game of inches and the ruler can just fall the right direction this season. Stranger things have happened and in sports NOTHING is of the question.

Personally, I hit at least 80% of the home games while they are winning or losing. If you have the same sick obsession odds are that our paths will cross this year at Citi. You can catch me at McFaddens before each game with a backpack full of tshirts. Let's grab a cold one.

I don’t know how we made it through 149 days without real baseball, but we made it. Finally we can look forward to hitting up Citi Field and enjoy what can be a summer to remember.

All the critics and analysts have done their predictions and almost all of them stated the obvious by picking teams with big signings or acquisitions during the winter. I guess that's why they get paid the big bucks.

Also almost everyone has the Mets not going anywhere, some even saying that they would end up in last place under the Nationals. They’re experts so it must be true.

Like I’ve said in recent entries, looking at every key piece from the squad from Queens, they have the ingredients to be contenders through most of the season and more importantly for the stretch run.

But something that has caught my attention watching all these preview shows and coverage of Spring Training is how the effects of the new guard are already showing. The finally look like a TEAM. A group that gets along, the players are being themselves and without the tension within the clubhouse. This could be a big factor to what they do this year because now all the focus is on trying to make this team a champion.

It’s a long season and there’s nothing guaranteed (we know that from 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009) but one thing that might be a given this year is that we will hear clowns with their dumb jokes about the Mets. But don’t be surprised if we’re the last ones laughing at the end of October.

I’m not saying the squad from Queens will run over the whole league, but they’re a team that everyone’s betting against and that could be the extra push.

So “You gotta be healthy” and “You gotta believe”

Finally the Mets granted us two of our many wishes.

Adiós Luis Castillo, who now will go on to help out on the Phillies' downfall and confirm that even with that sick rotation they still have a lineup full of aging players. And Adiós Oliver Pérez, who hopefully can go on and add on to the troubles that the team from the Dirty Bronx has in their group of pitchers.

We've pointed out millions of times how bad those two were for the team, but now it's time to turn the page, move on, look forward, live in the present, -- whatever your favorite analogy is. Now is time to think about the team we have and like I said a few months back, remind ourselves of the great players we still have. Yes there's still a big question mark at second base, yes there's still some spots to be decided in the rotation and the bullpen; but for most part the Mets have a SOLID group.

The "experts" are gonna say what they have to say, and honestly most of them pick their favorites based on obvious facts and who's hot at that given moment, therefore at the end of the season they always look like assholes no matter what. So don't pay attention if no one picks the Squad from Queens as favorites.

A certain columnist on a very big and very visited website said: "Right now, no one hates the Mets more than its fans." I found that really heartbreaking that is the general perception of a team beat writer and personally took that as an offense as a DIE-HARD METS FAN.

I probably can speak for a few of us out there by saying that I DON'T HATE THE METS, if anything, we hate the people that own it.

So please, help me prove this reporter wrong, and now more than ever show how big of a Mets fan you are. And do just like our team did, and cut ALL negativity from your roster before the season starts.

Castillo got the boot this past weekend and Perez was kicked to the curb this morning.

Castillo has since been picked up by the Phillies with a minor league deal and Ollie is now working at White Castle on Bell Blvd in Bayside, NY. Apparently he is too dumb to realize that he is still rich as fuck but is too depressed to know it.

Although the Mets will still be paying these two morons at least they are out of Met uniforms. The fans have spoken and the new GM listened. Cheers to Mr. Sandy!

I head into the Big Apple yesterday morning for some very early St Patrick's Day drinking. Boomer & Carton were broadcasting Live from Connollys on 47th and Madison from 6-10am so I decided to pop in and check out the show.

I got there around 8am and the place was jam packed with sports fan boozers. Drank quite a few Smithwicks beers, handed out some special Paddys Day discount cards and shmoozed it up with some big wigs.

Once the show was over I took the ol' liver on a tour of midtown with no real plan other than drinking one small coffee after each bar I hit. The plan worked out well and many many drinks later I was back home at my local Strawberrys watering hole.

Here we go again....

What do they say? The greatest way to flatter something is to copy it? I don't remember the exact term.

Either way these guys decided to come out with this awesome completely original LGM shirt.... sweet idea guys. We've been using that on shirts for a solid year already and have made the abbreviation popular after our run in with MLB.

We got in heat over writing the word Mets (in any font) on tshirts. That's where LGM was born since some of our shirts had to come down and be redesigned.

It's not like me to call people out who are trying to make a buck but c'mon guys... hire someone with original ideas.

FIX YOUR FACE (Part II)

Spring Training is in full blast and even though these games don't mean a single thing, we finally get to see some live action, we see what we got or can look forward too and most importantly it deflects all attention from all the Wilpons' fuck ups that keep emerging.

Last time I talked about fan attitude adjustment, and now I wanted to point out the players' attittudes and how with this new regime they should ditch the usual "we have a team that can compete in the division."

Those have been the exact words we've been hearing from most of our stars for the past couple of years. And we've come to take these words as something good given the past dissapointments.

I think it's about time that this team -- especially the "superstars" -- stop giving the lame "we have a good team" speech. To me and I bet to most of the fans that has started to translate to "we'll see what we can do."

After watching some interviews I'm starting to get a different feel and vibe from all the players, but I think it's time for them to start adopting the "Anything other than a championship is a failure" attitude. And come out and say it, not giving a shit if the team is two to three years away from going far, if it gives clipboard material for other teams or if other teams talk shit back.

It's time for the rest of the league to start having that hatred for the Mets, its players and its fans. I'd rather see a roster with not that many good guys if it means having a squad that wins championships.

The sounds of catchers' gloves slapping, the videos of pitchers jogging and running drills, the sight of a Laborghini being delivered to the Port St. Lucie complex parking lot...Finally Spring Training is here!

It's a sight for sore eyes and a great sign that baseball is just a few weeks away. But before early Christmas comes in the form of Opening Day, I think it's time that us as fans also start getting in shape -- not season drinking shape, we can do that EASILY during the opening series -- I mean start getting in shape as a TRUE FANS.

We all know the past few seasons have been failures (to say the least). But it's about time to start realizing how lucky we are as Mets fans, with a team that has an AMAZIN' history -- a lot of MLB's legends have worn the Orange & Blue and some of the greatest moments in the league have occured right there in Flushing.

I'm not saying to completely forget all the team's shortcomings or all the recent messes. I'm not asking either to start rocking rose-colored glasses.

I'm only suggesting that we keep being loyal fans and let's start being more optimistic. I know it's gonna be a roller coaster of a season -- after all it's still the Mets -- but don't shit on the team before the first pitch of the regular season is thrown and try to look at the bright side when things are going rough, not immediately but at least for a few seconds.

Yea it's rough being a Mets fan, but we gotta stay loyal and back them up no matter what.

With so much negativity in the mentality of many Mets fans, I always want to point out the bright spots on the team -- especially now during the offseason.

Most years the talk has been about what it should be: how are they going to strengthen the line up? How are they going to fix the bullpen? Will they have enough pitching to take the division and do their thing in the playoffs?

Man, even with so many questions, now looking back those look like "good ole' days". Now all the chatter around the Mets is off the field stuff -- mainly front office. Whether is an assistant acting like an idiot, or the incompetence of the people in charge, etc.

Now this latest issue with the Wilpons -- the economic problems they're having is plain embarassing.

I can take the ball bustin' about 2006, the collapses of 2007-2008, the injuries of 2009 and the underachievements of 2010. But this whole economic mess and the Maddoff name being linked with the Mets has to end quick.

I really don't know if the Wilpons really love the Squad from Queens, but if the sale of the team means bringing people that love it how most of us love it and that don't try to turn it into a half assed version of the Brooklyn Dodgers, than I really hope a new ownership comes in (hopefully Seinfeld or any other Mets heroes are getting their checkbooks ready).

There -- my first and probably only rant before an inning of the regular season is played.

There might be a plan...

After seeing all the big time trades and signings -- especially from that team from philty and the Nationals -- as most loyal Met fans, I've been pissed at the lack of activity or low profile signings that the front office has done (D.J. Carrasco???).

But this year I'm willing to cut the new GM and everyone up top making the moves some slack. This is because unlike previous offseasons, to me at least, it looks like they have a plan for reconstruction or maybe they're looking at the upside of the team they have right now.

So I put aside all anger of who everyone else got and who the Mets didn't get, and began looking at who they have. And came to the conclusion that the squad from Queens still players to creep up on everyone, just like the (former New York) Giants did last season.

This is what they have:

1. Big Pelf (Stepping up now as the ace)

3. Dickey (Showing that last year wasnt a fluke)
